Back in April, librarians designed a survey to determine library training needs among the Fox Chase Cancer Center community. It ran for two weeks and was completed by 86 respondents. The results will help library staff focus on class offerings in the coming year. The following class topics received the most interest:
– PubMed Advanced
– Google and other Search Engines
The next highest vote-getters were:
– PubMed Basics
– EndNote Advanced
– Library Orientation.
An interest was also expressed in Verifying References, EndNote Basics, Current Awareness, and interest groups in PubMed and EndNote.
As a result we will offer two walk-in Library Orientation sessions providing an overview of major library resources and services scheduled on June 11 at 10 am, and June 25 at 2 pm. New and not-so-new staff members are encouraged to attend. Look for more class offerings on these topics in the coming year!
